Less than two days after I wrote here that “It IS a VERY good bet that the Dems will lose a combined more seats between both houses, than the total 62 they lost in ‘994,” news came that yet another Dem Congressman won’t seek re-election next November. This was the forth chip to fall in less than two weeks.
Some expect that the negative trend of Dems backing off will continue as more Dems see the hand-writing on the wall that ’10 will be a bad one for the them.
2010 will certainly be bad for Dems if Repubs step up their attacks on the Dems, and point-out that the last time the Repubs ran Capital Hill (as of Dec. 2006), the economy gained monthly almost 200,000 jobs; the unemployment rate was below 4.5%, and the deficit was $163 billion, and continued flying downhill. Putting these numbers alongside the Dems’ record of the last three years, will harm the Dems.
