I like very much the idea of Twitter, simply for the fact that rants within 140 characters can be sent and read instantly by millions of people. It is a good way to get thoughts out there, to a large audience, in an easy way.

But the downsides of Twitter, or perhaps just the weak points, are as follows.

1) Sometimes people Tweet things that they would otherwise not write, which of course get them into trouble or just brings them to be ashamed of themselves. Yes, Tweets can be deleted, but once people got it on their phones, or once it was Re-Tweeted, deleting it is too late.

2) Then there are those, non-news agencies, that send Tweets a few times an hour, or on every hour. It can be a little too much for followers to get so many tweets, especially if your followers get tweets from a dozen or hundred other people. I think the most I tweeted in one day was 11, and that is already a lot for my followers.

3) You notice that some people have like 19,879 followers while they follow 10,875 people? Well, I know that  following others is a means to get more followers, but just as you DON’T really follow 10,875 people, 19,879 don’t really follow you. They probably mostly don’t read your Tweets. The same goes to those who have 2,000 followers while they follow 1,500 people. the point here is, you want to try having followers who read most of your stuff, rather than  just having big numbers.

This is basically what I have to say regarding this Twitter thing.
